Baseball
Memphis baseball fans are treated to games by the Memphis Chicks, the Southern Association's Class AA Minor League farm club of the Kansas City Royals. The Chicks play their games at Tim McCarver Stadium near the Fairgrounds. Heisman Trophy winner Bo Jackson got his professional baseball start with the Chicks in 1986. Basketball
The University of Memphis Tigers basketball, a frequent top-20 team and a regular visitor to the NCAA Championship, plays its games in the Pyramid Arena, a stunning 32-story stainless steel landmark. Pyramid Arena - (901) 521-9675
 
Football
The Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium is the site of many of the area's fiercest football contests. The stadium is the home field for the University of Memphis Tiger Football team. U of M's schedule regularly includes teams such as Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Florida State and Ole Miss, the school's biggest rival. The stadium is home to the Liberty Bowl Football Classic which pits the armed forces service academy awarded the Commander In Chief's Trophy against an at-large team in a nationally televised post season showdown. The Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium is also the site of the Southern Heritage Classic festivities, highlighted by a football game between traditional rivals Tennessee State University and Jackson (Mississippi) State University. Racing
The Memphis International Motorsports Park, located on a 800-acre tract in north Shelby County, offers a variety of racing, from drag racing to Atlantic Formula racing.
