Millington, Tennessee
Millington has enjoyed years of prosperity as a naval town.
It's the home of the Naval Support Activity Memphis and is situated about 20 miles north
of downtown Memphis.
The recent realignment of the military base has brought new
changes. Millington is in a state of transition, bringing in industry to replace lost
naval jobs, and creating new opportunities. The area is home to some unique amenities.
Meeman-Shelby State Park is 14,000 acres of outdoor activity, including camping, hiking,
swimming and horseback riding. Millington Legion Field is the home of the U.S. Olympic
Baseball Team, which won a gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympic Games. Team USA trains
here each year and hosts international opponents. Just south of Millington is the Memphis
Motorsports Park, one of the region's more popular raceways.

newer, more modern housing.
